The news is all over the internet. Search Giant Google has acquired YouTube for a whopping 1.65 billion dollars.
As always, guyz with funky spectacles and computers started speculating what exactly would be google thinking while acquiring YouTube. YouTube right now is surrounded by a lot of copyright issues and google’s acquisition is viewed as a unnecessary move.
YouTube allows its users to upload amateur as well as homemade videos to its website. But recently the facility has been misused for sharing copyrighted material such as tv series, music videos and parts of upcoming yet leaked movies
.
But Google has been very longvisioned in this whole process. Google does see a big oppurtunity ahead in the video advertising arena. Google can integrate video ads in YouTube which would by then be a part of Google Video(Google decides to drop the “funny looking” name : YouTube).
Also it plans to tie up with big recording firms for delivery of copyrighted material. Infact its already on its process. If I am not wrong Google has agreements with Sony BMG in this regard.
Whatever be the outcome , Google certainly has started to dominate the whole internet by eating it from one side. Its just a matter of time before which we get to see who’s right and who’s not.
